Two questions for John:
(i) Are there any particular brand of lines that you can recommend?
I use SpiderWire 80lbs and also PowerPro 80lbs & 100lbs.
(ii) What is the longest set of lines you have used before on Rev Kites? I can imagine the wind window would be enormous at say 200ft lines but control would probably be whole lot more difficult to handle. (I’ve not tried anything beyond 120ft yet, so I only wonder …)

David:
(i) At the moment, LaserPro Gold seems to be the most common/preferred line but Shanti Speed Line is also considered premium quality.
(ii) The longest lines I’ve used on a Rev is 200ft (tried a friend’s set)… The kite seems very slow because it’s so far away and has such a large wind window, the control is still quite good if there is enough wind, only your timing and amount of input changes a little to compensate.

Would it be a bad idea to build a line set with 50# bottom lines and 90# top lines as the top takes a bit more abuse? By the way big fan, thanks for all the great tutorials

Hi Chris!
I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, folks have done that before, but I can tell you I've not run into anyone who stuck with it... Everyone I know uses same weight top/bottom.
The real abuse is *abrasion*, which is shared equally between all four lines. ;)

Hi John,
Altho’ no longer in Singapore (in Doha now), been following you, takako n watty on Facebook! Looks like i’m missing all the fun. But just want to update you that i made a set of 200ft lines and flew it for the first time last week. Sensation was muted and kite was very heavy. I prefer 120ft and under normal wind conditions, it’s easier on the hamds amd arms and more enjoyable.
